Chandler Fast-Pitch Softball Preview – Presented by Thompson’s Insurance Agency

Coach: BRYAN HERRING

OUTLOOK

In 2021 the Lady Lions finished the season with a 31-10 record and head coach Bryan Herring is eager to see what this team can accomplish this season. VYPE Top 100 selectee Keelie Treat (P, So.) will shoulder the burden of being the teams go-to player in the circle. Last year as a freshman, Treat had over 160 strikeouts and hit .385 while leading the team in homeruns. Treat’s play can set the tone for the Lady Lions. Hannah Edmonds (SS, Sr.) returns to shortstop after spending a season behind the plate. Kali Beall (OF, Jr.) will start in the outfield where she sports a .975 fielding percentage for her career. Her speed and ability to read the ball off the bat is what sets her apart from others. And she brings leadership to the dugout.

Grace Haas (C, Sr.) returns to the field after a season ending elbow injury sidelined her last year. Other players to watch this season are Grace Hulsey, Kennedy Allen and Carson Jackson. Hulsey is back in the circle looking to eclipse the 500-strikeout mark. Allen will see time in the circle, bringing her high velocity and spin to every outing. Allen is a lefty and brings a nice change of pace to the field. Jackson (UT) is a solid ball player and someone who can help out at multiple positions. Coach Herring said of Jackson, “she has great character on the field and even better off. Always holds herself accountable first, both in athletics and in the classroom.”

Also look for Taygen Miller (Jr.) to return healthy this season. Miller was sidelined for two seasons but was the first to help out with fundraisers or whatever the team needed. She learned to keep book for the team and is always willing to do whatever it takes to help her team win. Also look for Charlee Hicks (Jr.), Pam Wood (Jr.), Jaylee Ventris (So.), Savannah Miller (So.), Halle Pittman (So.), Peyton Goeller (So.), Ryleigh Sharp (So.), Makayla Ballard (So.), Breyonna Fisher (So.), Ruthie Capps (Fr.), Rylee Capps (Fr.), Autumn Waldman (Fr.), Harley Cargill (Fr.), Hannah Campbell (Fr.), Emmy Wilson (Fr.), Katie Miller (Fr.), Cinda Collins (Fr.), and Izabella Foster (Fr.).
