Lilith Pricer is a senior at Perry High School where she is a member of the varsity cross country team under head coach Beau Custar. As a member of the team, Pricer said there are many reasons why she enjoys being around her teammates, but during a race, they can provide her with some mild entertainment. “I enjoy my teammates company at the starting line of a race and during runs they’re just someone to talk to,” said Pricer.
Also a member of the track team, Pricer said she started cross country when she was a freshman. From her first year to her senior year, Pricer has set personal goals for herself. This season she is looking to meet one of her more difficult goals yet. “My goals this season is to beat my fastest two-mile time and to make state,” said Pricer.
Many things can go on during a long run. From running hazards you must avoid to competitors, it is easy to get distracted. But for Pricer staying focused on her own race is the best policy. “On long runs I am focused. I think about my next meets and if I think I’m getting better or not and if I need to push myself harder,” said Pricer.
Pricer said the coaching staff at Perry is great and everyone is very supportive.
Her future plans include going to college, but she is undecided on a major. When she’s not running or preparing for an event, you can usually find her sleeping or hanging out with her friends.
