Stillwater High School senior, Blake Henderson, has been competing in sports since he was four-years old and has never stopped.
“Sports to me is where you can be in an environment with your friends and compete with each other,” Blake said.
Blake has played many sports over his school years, but soccer has always been his favorite. He currently plays midfielder for the boys’ soccer team.
“I like the bond you make with your team,” Blake said. “It is overall just a really fun experience and I appreciate soccer a lot.”
With this being his last year of high school soccer, Blake holds many memories very dear to him, but his favorite happened last year.
“My favorite soccer memory is when our team won districts last year. We had a great team chemistry, so every game we played was fun.”
For this student athlete being a good player is not the only thing that is important, but also being a good person.
“Good character means always keeping a positive attitude,” Blake said. “No matter what point you are in your life, high or low, good character means always carrying yourself in a positive way.”
Making sure to have good people to look up to is an important part of growing up. For Blake those people are the people he surrounds himself with daily.
“My parents and friends are the people who inspire me,” Blake said. “I love how they are always supportive of me, so they are huge inspirations in my life.”
Outside of school and sports Blake enjoys a low-key lifestyle, playing video games and just enjoying some restful time at home. When he is not on the soccer field, studying for school, or relaxing at home, you are likely to find him at his church.
After high school Blake has plans to attend college out of state and get the ‘away from home’ experience.
