Griffyn Stoodley is a senior at Stillwater High School and plays center midfield for the Lady Pioneers soccer team. She has played soccer since the age of four after her parents signed her up for a local recreational league. She also currently plays club soccer for Tulsa SC.
“High school soccer is really special because high schools can’t recruit like clubs can,” said Stoodley. “You have to make do with the players you have. It’s also fun to be able to play with your school friends.”
One of Stoodley’s best memories playing for the Lady Pioneers was during her first year in high school.
“My favorite memory competing would be during my freshman year,” she said. “We were in a PK shoot out, and I was able to score the winning goal.”
In addition to soccer, Stoodley is the president of Beta Club, marketing director of SMAC, and member of HOSA, NTHS, and Unified Peers. She is also committed to her education, maintaining an unweighted 4.0 GPA.
“Academics are very important to me because they are going to help pay for my school,” she said. “I’m not choosing to continue playing soccer, so my high school academic achievements are what is paying for my school.”
After graduation Stoodley plans to go to Oklahoma State University and major in physiology on the pre-med track.
