Cleveland senior Brooklyn McNac is built different. As a triple-sport athlete with straight A’s and a heart for her community, it is clear why she was voted as her local Hometown Hero.
McNac plays softball, basketball, and soccer for the Lady Tigers, each from a very young age and each playing multiple positions. She has enjoyed getting to play alongside her sister and cousin.
“My biggest role model has been my big sister Madalyn,” said McNac. “She always works 110% in everything she does, she is always a team leader and player, and she leaves a positive impact on everyone she meets. I truly aspire to be like her every day.”
If McNac had to pick one of her three sports, she knows which one would win.
“My favorite sport of the three is basketball because it’s very competitive sport and it’s always a grind,” she said. “I love being able to compete with good teams and having to work hard for a win. It has also taught me many life lessons throughout it.”
McNac enjoys all the aspects of being a high school athlete.
“I think the best part playing sports in high school is that it gets you involved more,” she said. “You get to make friendships with the girls on your teams, and you get to be a big role model for younger generations.”
If there’s someone who is involved in her school and community, it’s definitely McNac. She is the senior class president, National Honor Society vice president, student council president, Foreign Language Club president, is involved in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), P7 Bible Study, and Calculus Club. She is regarded as having a servant’s heart and a passion for making her hometown better.
After high school McNac plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College or Rose State College, play soccer, and earn a degree in dental hygiene.
