OFFENSE
The Drumright Tornadoes are facing a tough schedule this year, but head coach Jason Bray thinks his team is up to the challenge. “Only two teams on our schedule had a losing record last season,” Bray said. “The core of our team is young and how they develop will determine the success of our season.” While young, the Tornadoes do have skill at key positions. Quarterback Kelley Bryson (Jr.) will lead the offensive attack with Chase Blowers (Jr.) taking carries out of the backfield. Jaxson Bolton (Jr.) will be a leader on the offensive front and Jonathon Chavez (Jr.) can provide additional run blocking from the tight end or catch passes up the seam or out on the flat. Kevin Gooch (Jr.) looks to be Bryson’s go-to target early in the season at wide receiver. He’ll look to stretch the field and open up the Tornado passing attack.
DEFENSE
Drumright will look to adapt its defense throughout the year as the coaching staff fits players into positions where they will find the most success. Howdy Welch (Sr.) is a veteran leader on defense and one of the few senior Tornadoes. He’ll look to make his presence known on the defensive line and be a vocal leader for the Drumright defense. Expect to see players appearing in both offensive and defensive roles for Drumright. Assistants joining Bray on staff include Mike Ledgerwood, Seth Loyd, and Graham Gooch.
