Kari Lively and her husband Lonnie have two sons. Cooper graduated from Ponca City High School in 2018. When he was in high school, he played football for the Wildcats. After high school, he graduated from OSUIT in 2021. Carson is a senior at Ponca City. He also plays football and is also a member of the Wildcat fishing team. Carson serves as an officer in the Future Farmers of America club.
“My husband, Lonnie, and I are very active in anything our kids are involved in whether sitting in the stands cheering them on or volunteering with their booster clubs,” Kari said. “Being present at all of their activities is very important to us. You can find us along with all their grandparents supporting our kids. We are members of the Quarterback Club and Wildcats Fishing Club. We try to help wherever we can to help make things better for the kids! I find volunteering to be very rewarding by providing a sense of purpose and community.
Kari has been an employee of Phillips 66 for twenty-three years. She says that when she is not working or cheering on her kids, she enjoys shopping, spending time at the lake with family and friends, and watching the University of Oklahoma football and softball.
When she was in high school, Lively played basketball. She says that she is glad that her boys are participating in athletics because it is more than just sports.
“I think it’s very important for kids to get involved in sports,” she said. “Leadership, teamwork and self-discipline are just a few things they learn while competing.”
The community of Ponca City does a great job of being there for the school and the kids, which Kari says is a reason why she is glad to raise her kids there.
“I love how the community gets excited and shows their support for the students and athletes.”
