Coach: Jon Peveler
21-22 Record: 4-16
The Olive Lady Wildcats struggled a little last season but they are ready to wipe the slate clean and start a new season. Jon Peveler, who is in his first season leading the team, says that he expects to see improvements on the court with his team this year. “We are not the Olive team from the previous years,” coach Peveler said. “We should be very much improved and be well-rounded. We have some good post players and great guards who can light it up when they cross half- court. We will be excited to watch.”
The team brings back three seniors; Lainey Smythe (5-6, Sr.), Mayci Bethel (5-10, Sr.), and Rachel Rush (5-9, Sr.). They bring experience and leadership and will be looked upon to help the underclassmen throughout the season. A host of juniors are going to be some important players on this years squad. Jaquelynn Edwards (5-7, Jr.), Baylin Hutchison (5-6, Jr.), Kiana Peveler (5-7, Jr.), Mercedes Mills (5-7, Jr.), Kyley Carter (5-6, Jr.), Zoey Eiseman (5-5, Jr.), Meadow Doremus (5-9, Jr.), and Hailee Smith (5-8, Jr.) will all look to make big contributions this season and help the team improve off of a 4-16 record from last season.
Kati Kukuk (5-6, So.) and Elli Harmon (5-6, Fr.) are the younger players on the team but they will not let that stop them from doing their part. The assistant coach for the Lady Wildcats is Stephanie Peveler.
