Coach: Ray Tankersley

2021-22 Record: 8-15

Bristow head coach Ray Tankersley knows this season the Pirates may take a bit of time to gel as a unit as the team graduated six of their seven main contributors from a year ago. The Pirates will be a bit undersized this season and will look to use speed to their advantage and outhustle opponents while having a defensive- first mentality. Tankersley is looking forward to seeing some new players step up into bigger roles this season and gain experience as the year progresses.

Charles Ware (Sr.) is the lone returning starter and will be looked upon to set the tone for the Pirates this season. As a junior Ware averaged 11.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Ware is a solid athlete with good handles, the ability to drive the ball inside, a soft shooting touch, and can lock down opponents on the defensive end. Ryder Goodwin (Sr.) and Tristin Glisson (Sr.) will get an opportunity this year to play more significant minutes, make positive contributions, and should provide a veteran mentality to the team.

Caleb Alexander (Jr.), Collin McGuire (Jr.), Jack McGuire (Jr.), and Phoenix Deshazo (Jr.) have all grown in their first few years at Bristow and will be getting more opportunities this season to contribute. Ty Bishop (So.), Cade Williams (So.), and Noah McCall (So.) have been working hard since their freshman year and will look to make the most of their opportunities this season.

Coaches have been impressed by newcomer Tayton Jackson (Fr.) and expect him to make a leap this year and develop into a very solid player. Jackson is a good shooter with quick handles and a strong basketball IQ. Also look for Boston Estes (Fr.) to make appearances.
