Coach: Matt Morgan
2021-22 Record: 22-3
The Lady Pirates had a great season last year after posting a 22-3 record, but have their sights set on a bigger prize this year as they return tons of talent to the court. Bristow will return all but one starter from last year’s team and have tremendous experience and depth at every position.
Addi Alexander (5-5, Jr.) is a VYPE Top 100 nominee and will lead the Lady Pirates from the point. Alexander has the ability to knock down shots, facilitate the ball to open teammates, and sees the floor very well. Last year Alexander did a little bit of everything while averaging 11.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2 steals per game and coaches expect another big year from her.
Abby Morgan (5-9, Jr.) is a perimeter threat and has great size and instincts on defense. Last season Morgan averaged 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 rebounds and shot 34% from behind the arc. Ava Yocham (5-8, Jr.) always plays with a ton of energy on defense and flies by defenders when driving the ball into the paint on the other end. As a sophomore she averaged 4.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
ShaLyn Edmondson (5-8, Jr.) has great length and forces opponents to take tough shots by utilizing her wingspan and quick reactions on defense. Edmondson averaged 3.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game last season and looks to be a disruptive force again this year. Expect Bristow to utilize their size on both ends of the court this season to get easy shots at the rim and contest every shot their opponents put up.
Other players making an impact include: Cheyenne Roebuck (5-9, Jr.), Peyton Thompson (5- 5, Jr.), Reagan Plum (5-7, Jr.), Jacqueline Gambill (5-5, Jr.), Melaine Kent (5- 10, So.), Audra Dunbar (5-7, So.), Mackenzie Spencer-Friday (5-7, So.), Tori Brown (5-5, So.), Ciara Alexander (5-4, Fr.), and Tinlee Roberts (5-6, Fr.). Bristow assistant coaches are Becky Busch and Scooby Fullbright.
