VYPE: How long have you played your sport, and what first got you interested in the sport?
Chesney: I have been in track for four years. What got me interested in running track was my love to run and compete. It has helped me push myself into being better and stronger than I was before.
VYPE: In your opinion, what is the best part about playing sports in high school?
Chesney: The memories. The continuous learning and the forever bond you make with your team is my favorite part of high school sports.
VYPE: What is your favorite memory competing?
Chesney: Going to regionals last year.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against?
Chesney: I do not have a favorite opponent to compete against but I love to be in the fastest heat to push myself.
VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?
Chesney: My teammates, coaches, and grandparents.
VYPE: What do your teammates mean to you?
Chesney: My teammates are like family to me.
VYPE: Are you involved in any other sports, clubs, activities, etc.?
Chesney: I am involved in Cheerleading, Track, Basketball, Pep Club, Student Council, FCCLA, FCA
VYPE: Is there anyone you look up to as a role model?
Chesney: I have always looked up to my older sister Matteah as a role model, she has always been the person I grew up wanting to be when I was little, and she has inspired me to always do my best in everything I do.
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
Chesney: I plan to major in science at Northwestern Oklahoma University and then further my education by going into Pre-Med to become a pediatric surgeon.
