Karie Linsenmeyer is a graduate of Hesperia High School in Hesperia, California. As a student, she played softball and basketball. She got her first taste of coaching as a high school student and knew that education and coaching was the path that she wanted to pursue.

“I knew I wanted to be a teacher and coach pretty early on,” she said. “I would say during my high school years. I coached youth teams during high school and college. I received an athletic scholarship and played softball at Oklahoma State University and ended up staying in the area after college.”

Linsenmeyer teaches Adapted Physical Education at Stillwater High School, Junior High, and Middle School. She also coaches the Secondary Special Olympics, and varsity softball, and is the Unified Peers Club advisor.

“I fell into teaching APE and Special Olympics Coaches positions but absolutely love it,” she said. “I get to teach and coach sometimes the most challenging population but absolutely the most rewarding on a daily basis. The Unified Peers Club unifies general education students with our special students and we go on field trips, plan parties, plan awareness campaigns and participate in the Special Olympics together.”

As a teacher in the classroom, Karie tries to not only teach her students about the subject at hand, but also teach skills that they will be able to use after high school.
“I want my students to know to never quit on their dreams, believe in themselves, and do it in the right way. Resilience, belief, and integrity.”

Growing up, there were a couple of people that were impactful to Linsenmeyer and helped her become the person she is today.

“Greg Dickinson was my high school math teacher and softball coach,” she said. “And my dad, Rick Langelier, who was the best coach I ever had. These guys were big influences in my life.”

When she is not teaching or coaching, Linsenmeyer enjoys being with her family.
“I love to spend time with my wonderful family,” she said. “My husband Lee and kids Kody, Kameron, and Kaylee. I also love watching and attending all Oklahoma State University sports teams, especially softball.”
