Coach: KAREY JONES
5-5
OFFENSE
The Black Bears are bringing back a lot of experience this season and head coach Karey Jones is ready to see what his guys are able to accomplish this season. “We are very excited about our upcoming season in which we will be led by fifteen seniors,” Jones said. “We are returning all but one starter on both sides of the ball. I think we will have a really good year.” Leading the offensive charge this year will be Jacob Warnock (5-8, 175, Sr.), who is an outstanding running back. Last year, he racked up 1,403 yards on the ground. Also looking to be big-time producers this season will be quarterback Luke Mitchell (6-2, 210, Jr.) and wing-back Kolbe Novotny (5-8, 170, Jr.), who combined for 1,445 rushing yards a year ago. Tight end Caleb Leadingfox (6-1, 230, Sr.) will block up front but will also be a receiver, when necessary, while Elijah Echohawk (6-2, 255, Sr.) and Connor McClendon (6-3, 265, Sr.) will anchor the offensive line.
DEFENSE
Defensive linemen Xavier Barber (5-11, 170, Sr.) and Camden McClendon (6-2, 225, Sr.) will both work to wreak havoc on opposing offenses. Cale McPeek (6-0, 200, So.) and Aiden Jones (6-2, 230, So.) are going to keep an eye on the run and the pass as linebackers. Patrolling the secondary and looking to slow down the opponent’s passing game will be cornerbacks Ethan McAllister (5-11, 165, Jr.) and Grady Mittasch (5-8, 175, Jr.).
