Stillwater’s Trey Tuck – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Larry Gosney State Farm Stillwater

by Trina Walker

Winning a state championship title is the ultimate goal for football players across Oklahoma. Trey Tuck was fortunate to achieve this goal with his team as they won the 2022 6A-II championship title last year for the Stillwater Pioneers.

Entering his senior year, Trey proudly represents his school as a student athlete. “Being able to look up into the stands after making a big play and see everyone cheering for me,” is the best part of representing SHS, says Trey.

“I am passionate about my sport because I put a lot of time into it,” he says. Playing both football and basketball, Trey credits sports for teaching him to work his hardest with everything he does.

Trey says, being on a team means you have multiple brothers who have your back. In particular, teammate Eli Williams, left a huge impression by taking Trey under his wing.

Trey’s favorite teacher is Mr. Mach for his ability to help his students learn and because he cared for each one. The professional athlete Trey looks up to is Kobe Bryant because of his “mamba” mentality.

Family is an important part of Trey’s life. He is most inspired by his sister. “She has been through multiple circumstances and fought through all of them,” he said.

Trey is thankful to his parents for pushing him to be the best player he can be.

It was his dad who signed him up to play football in the first grade. The best advice that anyone has given Trey came from his dad. “He told me to keep fighting and never give up.”

Even the hardest working player needs time to relax and eat. Trey’s favorite food is spaghetti and if he could go anywhere on vacation it would be to Hawaii with his family.
