Perkins-Tryon High School
The Demons of Perkins-Tryon have a proud football tradition. One of their defensive specialists, Hagen Cundiff, is a starting linebacker and a senior this year. Cundiff is one of several seniors who returned this season for their final year of football. Another activity Cundiff is in his final year of is FFA.
“I first joined the FFA when I was in the eighth grade,” said Cundiff. “It was my dad who encouraged me to join.”
With so many options in FFA, Cundiff has enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in several different activities including showing livestock.
“Showing is what I enjoy most about FFA. I’ve also been part of the livestock judging team and I’m an active chapter officer. I also do cattle handling and grading,” said Cundiff.
His preferred animal of choice to show are pigs. Cundiff said anyone interested in FFA or unsure if it’s the right activity for them should get involved and give it a try.
In the classroom, Cundiff is focused on making good grades and setting himself up for college. Cundiff is a member of National Honor Society and is looking forward to life after graduation.
“I plan on going to Oklahoma State University for veterinarian school,” said Cundiff.
The senior said his father has been a big influence in his life and is involved in everything he does in or away from school.
On the gridiron, Cundiff said he loves being around his teammates and the excitement of Friday night.
“What I love most about this team is we are very competitive. I love being around my teammates and the Friday night lights.”
