VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Jaylee: Basketball has taught me to stay accountable on the things you do and to take it slow and don’t rush.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Jaylee: My favorite part is the community and the things we accomplish that we couldn’t do individually.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Jaylee: I am passionate because I can see myself achieving greatness and being my best self, when i put work in I am able to see the glimpses of that self which strives me to become it.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Jaylee: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Eck, she is one of the teachers at the high school that teaches many different science credits. She is my favorite because she doesn’t hold back the bad things that happen, she finds a way to work through them and persevere even on the hardest days.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Jaylee: The people that inspire me are my two older brothers, but in their own way. One well put their all into every sport possible and spreads competition along with kindness; the other is a little less outgoing but pours his heart into whatever he does even if it hurts sometimes.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Jaylee: I would go to Hawaii; I would take my closest friends and even some that who are not as close because in the end I would want to make sure whoever is there it could be fun, and you could make memories with anyone.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Jaylee: I did play for a short time when I was younger, but I truly started playing in 7th grade, the honest reason to why I ended up trying out was because I wanted to try and get in shape and simply because I was tall.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Jaylee: My favorite memory was my sophomore year when we played Norman, we had a technical foul called on Norman and two chargers were called. The atmosphere that day was astronomical, with the band and a full student section, and finally breaking our 0-2 streak with them was amazing.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Jaylee: My best advice I’ve received is that “good players play slow, bad players play fast”.
