Athletes, no matter what level they compete at, has to devote a lot of time and effort in order to be their best. Chandler’s Keelie Treat has someone that she looks up to and has for quite some time.
“One of my biggest role models is Neleigh Herring,” Treat said. “I have grown up watching her play at Chandler and also at Wichita State. I love her work ethic, she is always improving her game and doing whatever she can to get better. She is dominate on and off the softball field and she is a very motivational person.”
As a sophomore at Chandler High School, Keelie plays fastpitch and slowpitch softball and basketball. During the span of her career, she has had some memorable moments on the field but has one that stands out as her favorite.
“My highlight moment happened when I was playing with my travel team,” she said. “I hit three home runs in a game at Hall of Fame Stadium, which was really awesome.”
Becoming the player that she is today has required a lot of work and time from Keelie, but she says that her teammates have also played a big role too.
“I have had some great teammates over the years,” Treat said. “Carson Jackson is probably the teammate I enjoy going up against the most in practice. We push each other to be the best we both can possibly be. We both always want what is best for each other and always want the other to succeed. Harley Cargill is our most underappreciate team member. She is a freshman who is always picking everyone up. She is always cheering for everyone and always doing the best she can to make us feel better. She is the sweetest girl and can always make us laugh. She is always doing whatever she can to help out.”
Treat is also involved in a number of groups around campus. She is a member of Positive Peers, Student Council, Peer Mentors, and Youth Action for Health Leadership.
