Coach: Trae Fairchild
21-22 Record: 11-15
Last season ended sooner than the Ponies were hoping, falling in the Area tournament. But as they enter a fresh and new season, they are hoping to make a deeper run this season. Head coach Trae Fairchild says that while they bring back experience, his squad has a good combination of athletes. “We bring back two really solid seniors in Owen Bellis and Jaustin Miles,” he said. “They are mixed in with some solid young players that have really progressed. We are expecting a big jump out of Easton Nance and Landry Cronister. Overall, we have a good group of kids that play hard and leave it all on the floor.”
Bellis was an All-Conference player as a junior in a tough conference. He is a lanky player that can really score at all three levels. Look for him to be a key member of the team this season. Miles is a long wing that makes all the effort-type plays. He is always going 100 miles per hour and is ready to lead in rebounds and steals. He should also score a lot of points as well. He never takes a play off and is always making tough plays. He is a tough player to prepare for. An all- conference player as a junior in a tough conference, Owen Bellis is a lanky player that can really score at all three levels. He also is a great rebounder and leader among his teammates.
Easton Nance is a sophomore that saw some action as a freshman. He is a great decision-maker and is another coach on the floor. He hit big shots in games last year as a freshman and is ready to take a step forward. The assistant coaches will be Vince Chavez and Shawn Thornbrue.
