Bristow runner Gage Spencer recently spoke to VYPE in an interview.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals this year are to win individual titles for every event that I will be participating this year.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is definitely being a state runner up in the 200m this past state meet.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that I look up to the most is definitely Kaden Hooks, being a year older he showed me how things worked within the team and is always offering advice on and off the track.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on this team is the people, everyone has their own unique personality and talents that help us all get along so well with each other.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I’m not really active in a lot of clubs besides attending FCA every now and then.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Track has taught me that there are good days and bad days but you always make it to the end.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
The best advice that I’ve received is from my Dad: There are winners and there are losers, how you win or lose determines your character.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
My friends and family do, especially my parents. They go out of their way to be at anything I do and support me at everything I do. They’re my biggest supporters and influencers and I can only dream to be like them one day. I also have to give all glory to God, only he knows where I might end up and he had blessed me with the opportunity to be apart of my team and the ability to do track.
