By: Hunter Ferguson

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My goals for this year are to be all-state in Slowpitch and Track, become a state champion in the 400m dash, leave Chandler Athletics with respect and honors, and lastly graduate!

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory would be Winning academic all-state in Basketball My senior year.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Every single one of my teammates has impacted my life today. They inspire me to be the best leader I can be for them and the program and they always keep me accountable. Not only have they become my teammates they have become my forever family and I will cherish them for the rest of my life.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

Being a part of the Chandler Lions Basketball, softball, and track teams has been a true blessing. I love every second I get to be with my teammates and compete.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I am a part of FCA and Chandler Rotary and Attend Victory Life Church. Being. a part of the organizations. and clubs have instilled in me my values and life. One reason is that I am a Christian, and my faith is so important to me. Jesus has changed my life, and I strive to glorify him in everything that I do.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Each sport has played a huge role in my development, character and ambition. They have taught me how to overcome adversity, and the importance of gratitude. Not everyone is fortunate enough to play sports, so I don’t take these things for granted.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Take every opportunity that comes your way.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

My family, teammates, coaches, and God. My family supports me in everything I want to make them proud of. My teammates always have my back and confide in me even when I don’t have it in myself. My coaches have taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and loyalty. Most importantly, my relationship with God takes the eyes off of me and onto Jesus. I want others to know he loves them very much and Has a plan for their life. When things in our life come and go, he is the one that remains the same and will never leave us.

Thank you to My Parents, Coaches, and mentors. You have pushed me to be the best version of myself and prepared me for the next chapter of my life. You believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.
