Coach: Sherrie Simek
21-22 Record: 10-13
The Stroud Tigers and head coach Sherrie Simek have high expectations going into the new season with an experienced roster from top to bottom. VYPE Top 100 athlete Kileigh Mixon (Sr.) enters her fourth year as a starter for Stroud and has averaged 18 points and 4.0 blocks per game. Mixon is a team leader with a great attitude, work ethic, and true passion for the game. She is an incredible athlete and excels in multiple sports at a high level. Mixon is a two- time Class 2A high jump champion in track and field and uses her incredible leaping ability on the basketball court to great effect. She is fantastic on the defensive end at blocking shots and can get to the rim when driving through the lane; look for her to have a tremendous senior season.
Charley Coleman (Jr.) is the definition of a hard worker. Her competitive spirit brings everyone together and helps get the most out of her teammates. Coaches say that her tenacity alone has made Coleman a force on both ends of the floor and she continues to improve every day. Peyton Davis (Fr.) is possibly the quickest person on the Lady Tiger roster. Davis has been turning heads in the preseason with her speed, aggression, and quick instincts. Expect her to make an immediate impact as an underclassman this season.
Kaley Bivin (Sr.) does every little thing right and never quits. “She didn’t get a varsity uniform when she was a sophomore,” Simek said. “She turned that into motivation to work harder and get better. That hard work and dedication not only got her a varsity uniform but also a starting position.” Bivin represents everything that Stroud basketball is about: showing up every day, working hard, and looking for ways to improve no matter what.
Other players to look for include: Haylee Durrence (Jr.), Makenna Hall (Jr.), Carly DeLeon (So.), Savanna Mitchell (Fr.), Charley Coleman (Jr.), Cheyanne Messer (Fr.), and Genevieve Holland (So.).
