Stroud’s Brice Wolff – North OK Athlete Spotlight – Presented by the Law firm of Boettcher Devinney Ingle and wicker

By Derrick Smith

Athletes at every level of competition have rough patches throughout their career. Whether it lasts a game or two or an entire season, these tough times can take their toll on the athlete. Brice Wolff has done a lot to become the athlete he is today. But he says when the tough times come, do not give up.

“I have put in a lot of work to get where I am,” he said. “Things have not always gone the way I wanted them to but I just remember to keep pushing forward and all the hard work will pay off.”

Wolff, who is a junior at Stroud High School, plays both golf and basketball for the Tigers. On the hardwood, he plays both point guard and shooting guard. Brice is no stranger to either sport as he began playing basketball when he was five years old, and he started golf in the sixth grade.

There have been numerous people that have been a part of Brice’s sports life throughout his career. A lot of those have made big impacts on his life, but he says that there is one person who played the biggest role.

“My dad would have to be the biggest influence on my life,” he said. “He has always and still does push me to be the best I can and to do whatever it takes for me to be my best. I would not be the athlete or the person I am today without him.”

Throughout his career, Wolff says that he has made some great memories, but he also knows that he has some great things ahead of him too. “Attending the Oklahoma State University Golf Camp was a pretty great experience,” he said. “Also, I placed fourth at the conference tournament. That was good but I know that I can do better and I have a lot more ahead of me.”

Brice has sat through many teacher’s classes at Stroud, but he says it is tough to try to pick out one as his favorite. “I don’t have a favorite teacher,” he said. “I have learned something from each teacher that I have had,” he said.
