The Ponca City Lady Cats are ready to build off of last season and make a solid postseason run this year. Head coach Mica Estrada says that the squad has a lot of familiar faces and should have a great season. “The Lady Cat basketball team is excited for the upcoming season,” Estrada said. “Graduating only one last season, we are returning with a lot of experience and a drive to compete at the highest level of Oklahoma basketball.” One of the leaders on this year’s team will be Kyra Allison (5-8, Sr.). She has started since her freshman year. She is an athletic player with the ability to score from anywhere on the court. Another player that will make big contributions for the team will be Jasmine Sodowsky (5-7, So.). She is a skilled
player that the team look forward to seeing on the court this season. Payton Miner (5-8, Jr.) is an outstanding example for the younger players to look up to and she is one of the hardest workers on the team. She comes to practice every day and does her best to improve her performance as well as the performance of the team. Kaytum Lively (5-5, Jr.) is a junior for the Ponca City Lady Cat basketball team. Kaytum is an outstanding individual on and off the court. She works hard on and off the court to achieve goals that she has set for herself. Calissa Collins (5-6, Sr.), Lanie George (5-9, Sr.), and Laileyanna Allen (5-6, Jr.) are other team members that are expected to make an impact on the court for Ponca City this season. Other Lady Cats to watch for this season are Jenna Northcutt (5-7, So.), Allison Duncan (5-10, So.), Baylee Stewart (5-5, So.), Lauren King (5-6, So.), Alexa Avila (5-7, So.), Mash-ta Littlecook (5-6, So.), Nevaeh Carlisle (5-7, So.), and Kyiah Pool (5-9, So.).
