PONCA CITY WILDCATS

BOYS

Coach: Jacob Birnbaum

22-23 Record: 4-22

The Wildcats are coming off of a tough season that saw them end with just four wins. But first year head coach, Jacob Birnbaum says that they are looking to turn things around and have a solid season. “We are resetting the culture and building for the future,” coach Birnbaum said. “The players have been putting a lot of work in and we are looking to surprise some people this year with how much we have improved.” One of the key players in the Wildcat’s turnaround is Tay Moore (6-2, Sr.), who averaged 16 points and seven rebounds last year. He is an exceptional athlete that can use his speed, bounce, and strength to finish tough baskets at the rim. He keeps defenses on their toes because he can knock down shots from distance at a high level as well. His natural gifts also make highly effective on the defensive end, putting pressure on ball handlers and cutting through passing lanes. One of the younger guys that will look to step up this season is Jaxon Dugosh (6-2, So.). Jaxon

is a great athlete with incredible instincts. This makes him a terrifying defender for opposing guards. His high energy gives him plenty of opportunities on the offensive glass, as well as leading to chances for him to lead the break off of defensive rebounds. Nathan Silk (6-0, Sr.) brings great energy and enthusiasm to everything that he does. He comes to practice every day with the intention to lead and get better. An outstanding leader on and off the court, AJ Landes (6-3, Jr.) is an incredible student and teammate. The Wildcats have a big senior class that will look to have an impact on the season. Members of this group are Elijah Kreisel (6-2, Sr.), Raecyn Fisher (6-2, Sr.), Jackson Northcutt (5-10, Sr.), Stevne Koehn (6-2, Sr.), and Kooper Rich (6-4, Sr.). Other players to keep an eye on are Zadyn Stoll (6-3, Jr.), Thomas Putman (6-2, Jr.), Trent Jackson (6-3, So.), Adriel Miller (6-2, So.), Trent Wilson (5-9, So.), and Josey Wells (6-2, Jr.).
