Blackwell athlete Kinley Botts spoke to VYPE in recent interview.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for the year are to graduate and further my education.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory was when we won the Medford tournament on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 and we were celebrating in the locker room by spraying water and when we went to huddle Madison McConnell slipped and fell.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
I would say my sister Kellyn has left the biggest impression on me because she is always pushing me to do my best in practice and on the court and always goes up to the gym with me.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
The friendships that come with it are like family, we always have each others backs, and we all push each other to be the best.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
Student council has participated in many activities to help around the school.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
Student Council, FCCLA, Pep Club, FCA, Bancboard.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
It has taught me to work together and help others to be their best.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
The best advice that anyone has probably given me would be my sister Hadley because she always tells me to push myself to be the best even if no one else is.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
I would say that both of my parents inspire me with their hard work and dedication that they put out for everything they do.

I want to give a shout out and a huge thank you to my entire family for always being there for me and always pushing me to get better. They always have my back and support me in anything that I do.
