Frontier’s Ethan Butler – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by 7 C Land and Cattle Steakhouse

Ethan Butler is a multi-sport athlete at Frontier High School. For him, being competitive is important and he wants to be at his best whenever he competes.

“It has taken a lot of hours after school,” he said. “Just training by myself and listening to my coaches and believing in them. I also keep myself motivated by thinking about my family, teammates, and coaches. I want to make them proud whenever I play.”

A sophomore, Butler is a member of the Mustangs’ basketball, track, and cross country teams. Outside of athletics, he is also a member of the Frontier Intertribal Youth Leadership, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Academic team.

Throughout his athletic career, Butler has some memorable moments, but he says that there is one game in particular that stands out as his favorite.

“I would have to say that the highlight of my career was when I had 15 rebounds against Glencoe,” he said. “We won the game and it was great to know that I helped our team win.”

There have been people that have been a part of Butler’s life that have made an impact on him and who he is today.

“I would say that my parents have been big role models for me,” he said. “They always push me to be the best that I can be. Russell Westbrook is someone else that I look up to. I appreciate how aggressive he plays and how much energy he has on the court. Coach Collins, coach Weckstein, and my AAU coach Reggie continue to push me to be the best that I can be.”

Although the Mustangs play a number of opponents throughout the season, Ethan has a couple that he enjoys getting the win against the most.

“My favorite teams to beat would be Morrison and Glencoe,” he said.

When he wears the Mustang uniform, Ethan knows that it is more than just a piece of clothing.

He says that he is proud to be a representative of the school and community.

“It means a lot,” he said. “I am proud to be an influence the little kids around the school and allow them to look up
