Newkirk Tigers Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Ponca City Speciality Clinic

Coach: Mark Huster

21-22 Record: 8-15

Coming into the 2022-23 season, head coach Mark Huster has a few questions to answer concerning his lineup, but he does return some talented players who look to get Lady Tiger basketball back to post-season play. Kyson Vap is a three-year starter at point guard and is a leader on the floor. Vap can push the pace and run the offense. “She is quick and handles the ball well,” said coach Huster. “She’s a lockdown defender.”

Tayton Voegele is a two-year starter and someone coach Huster will look to this season for quality minutes. Also look for underclassman Kate Free to step up this season. Free brings her quickness to the floor and the ability to play great defense.

Delaney Colquhoun is proof that hard work pays off. Colquhoun can shoot the three-ball and is very quick without or with the ball. Assistant coaches are Jaydon Solberg and Kori Watters.
