Ponca City Area Baseball Players To Watch – Presented By Ponca City Specialty Clinic – Stillwater Medical

Carter Barringer – Blackwell

Barringer is a hard worker that knows what it takes to be his best. He is also a great leader amongst his teammates.

Conner Sneath – Frontier

Conner has improved his batting greatly since his freshman year. He has a lively arm, hitting as high as 88 on the radar. Also, his play at shortstop when he is not pitching was rewarded as a North Country All-Conference selection last spring. He is a great influence to work hard and push the younger ball players to buy into the commitment needed to become a winning program.

Jace Thompson – Newkirk

After taking a couple of years off, Thompson is looking to have a solid year. He has the talent to be an immediate impact player.

Jaxon Testa – Ponca City

Jaxon is due for a big year. He is a senior leader and will be the team’s No. 2 guy on the bump. Jaxon is a kid who is very good defensively. He has a consistent bat and should have a solid season.

Ryan Morgan – Tonkawa

Morgan will be the Buccaneers top pitcher this season. Along with a solid arm, he brings a force when he bats as well.

Levi Porter – Woodland

Levi, a starter since his sophomore year, is expecting a big senior campaign. He will be counted on to create havoc on the bases and be a table setter for the offense.

Underclassmen To Watch

Lane Thompson – Frontier

Lane is a player that can do it all. He is an outstanding center fielder, but also pitches and catches when needed. He can hit leadoff, or contribute in the heart of the order. He was on fire at the end of the fall, hitting .500 in district play to bring his batting average over the .300 mark. He is a super athletic player and continues to improve everyday.

Dayton Seelinger – Newkirk

Seelinger brings a great attitude to the team and he looks to surprise some teams this season.

Cameron Schmitt – Ponca City

Schmitt is a young guy that is going to have a chance to have a major role for his ball club this season. He is a great instinctual defender and a great kid who works hard.

Cayden Duvall and Westyn Freeman – Tonkawa

Duvall and Freeman are both freshmen that should see a lot of playing time this season. Along with being good defensively, they also are solid hitters at the plate.

James Graham – Woodland

James will get a much-expanded role in the lineup this year. He will also be a staple in the pitching rotation. Coaches are expecting to see him be very productive this spring.

Unsung Heroes

Noah Farmer – Frontier

Noah plays catcher and is also an outstanding pitcher. He is only a sophomore but is very mature and hard-working. His arm strength has grown with leaps and bounds due to his diligent weight room routine.

Tucker Beaston – Newkirk

Tucker will be in the starting rotation on the mound. He will look to make a big impact on the field.

Corey Marazas – Ponca City

Corey has worked his tail off to get in shape for the season and will be the starting first baseman and cleanup hitter. He looks to be a leader on and off the field.

Luke Shepherd – Tonkawa

He has led the team in batting average the last two years while playing multiple positions as needed. He will likely fill a similar role this year.

Jordan McConnell – Woodland

Jordan has been a regular at the high school practices since he was in the fifth grade when his brother was in the program. He’s a great kid and a hard worker that can always be counted on.
