Baseball Players to Watch
Cooper Lusk – Blackwell
Cooper is one kid that Blackwell coaches are excited about for this upcoming season. He is a great kid that is willing to learn and improve his game. Cooper is a pitcher and first baseman and can easily help the team out this upcoming season. He still has some growth to improve on, but this is one kid that will be fun to watch this season.
Brody Wicker – Ponca City
Brody is an ace on the mound and a bopper in the middle of the lineup. He is a four-year starter, and as the number one pitcher on the mound last year had an ERA of 1.57 while racking up 57 strikeouts. Looking for big things from him this season as a leader on the team.
Ryan Morgan – Tonkawa
Ryan is a four-year starter and has been the go-to arm on the mound for the last three years. He is a very smart player and takes advantage of his opportunities.
Trey Bennett – Woodland
Trey has been a force on the mound, in the field, and at the plate since he was a freshman. He is a very experienced and intelligent player with a competitive edge that is unrivaled and an elite understanding of the game. Going into his junior season the expectations for him are high, particularly his expectations for himself.
Baseball Underclassmen to Watch
Carter Barriger – Blackwell
Carter is a kid that is always willing to do whatever he can to help his team. He is a great kid on the field and a great student in the classroom. He takes coaching very well and is willing to go out of his way to make his teammates better.
Isaiah Branstetter – Ponca City
Isaiah started for Ponca City as a freshman last year, had a lot of big at bats and the word for him is just poise. He will play first and also pitch as well this season.
Cayden Duvall and Westyn Freeman – Tonkawa
Both of them had major roles as freshmen. Both batted around or over .500 for most of the year. They will both pitch and play key positions in the field.
Landon Presson – Woodland
Landon is a natural athlete that will be a big asset in several positions on the field. Looking forward to good things from him during his high school career.
