Ponca City’s Jennifer Heitman: Mom of the Month – Presented by The Ponca City Real Estate Co.

Jennifer Heitman is the mother of three and she is proud of all three of her girls. She says that no matter what they are involved in, she makes sure that she is their biggest fan.

“It is so important to be there for my girls,” she said. “I want them to know that anytime they go out on the floor or stage to perform, their parents are going to be right there supporting them one hundred percent of the way. They have always had big goals and dreams, and watching them live those out as they grow has been such a blessing.”

Her oldest daughter, Janie, graduated from Ponca City in 2022. Jaclynn is a senior this year, while Jordyn is a freshman.

“All three of them have been a part of the National Champion Po Hi-Steppers team,” Heitman said. “They have all participated in Evans Childrens Academy of Performing Arts at the Poncan Theater for several years, and are active members of the First Lutheran Youth Group. Jaclynn and Jordyn are both active in Student Council and are part of Chorale this year as well.”

Jennifer enjoys being a part of her daughter’s activities as more than just a fan and proud mom.

“I stay involved by volunteering,” she said. “In the past I’ve volunteered as their coach for both soccer and cheerleading. I also serve as their youth leader at church. Now that I’m past my coaching phase I try to be available to help my girls and their teams and coach however needed. Volunteering and fundraising is a huge part of Hi-Stepping. I spend a lot of time helping plan events and activities for the Hi-Steppers. In theater there are a lot of needs as well, and while I haven’t been as involved behind the scenes as much as I’d like to yet, I do try to offer some time up there as well. There is always a need to move set pieces, paint sets, create vinyl applications for different props, hair and makeup for shows, serve in the lobby before shows.”
