VYPE: Who has left the biggest impact on you and why?
Kate: The Backhaus twins have left the biggest impact on me because I’ve always looked up to them since middle school and I always have tried to be as good as them.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Kate: I am passionate because I love competing and I love to win and want to be the best. I look up to Shohei Ohtani because I got to see him play the Texas Rangers and I think it’s awesome how he pitches and hits and he’s one of the best in the MLB at both.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Kate: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Marcotte from my sophomore year. She was a very funny teacher and I had the best memories in that class. Also, my Dad inspires me because he’s so passionate about sports and has always pushed me to be the best I can be.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Kate: Working together to win and compete and making memories.

Kate: I want to say thank you to my mom and dad, my siblings, coach Scott, coach Watkins, and coach Huster and my best friend Annalee Sewell who I grew up playing softball with.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Kate: Also, my Dad inspires me because he’s so passionate about sports and has always pushed me to be the best I can be.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Kate: One of my favorite parts is hitting a grand slam off Ponca city my sophomore year and winning the game.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Kate: I would choose to go to Hawaii with my whole family and extended family because I love hanging out with all of my cousins and I love the ocean.
