VYPE: What year are you guys?
Clayton: Junior.
Cole: Freshman.
VYPE: What sports are you each in?
Clayton: Baseball.
Cole: Baseball.
VYPE: Year-round?
Clayton: Fall and spring.
Cole: Yes.
VYPE: How long have you each been playing?
Clayton: Since 6U.
Cole: Since I was 6.
VYPE: Who put you in baseball?
Clayton: My parents.
Cole: My parents.
VYPE: Would you say you were a natural from the beginning or did it take a lot of work?
Clayton: It took work. Struggled with hand-eye coordination and had to play a lot of catch and took a lot of BP.
Cole: Natural. When I was told to do something, I just picked it up and it came easy.
VYPE: Do you think having an older brother who was just a couple years ahead of you made it come more natural?
Cole: Yes, because I always played up with my brother and the older teams.
VYPE: How much have you tried to guide your brother on his baseball journey?
Clayton: It’s gone both ways. We’ve helped each other along the way. We give each other tips of what we’re doing right and wrong and give each other ideas. And it always helps to have someone around to practice with.
VYPE: How would you describe your relationship on the field and in the clubhouse?
Clayton: We’re good teammates.
Cole: Good teammates.
VYPE: Do you ever butt heads?
Clayton: Sometimes.
Cole: Sometimes.
VYPE: How do you guys usually sort it out?
Clayton: Take time and cool off and talk it out.
Cole: Talk it out.
VYPE: What do you think is the best quality about each other?
Clayton: Cole’s a good person on and off the field.
Cole: Clayton is a good leader.
VYPE: What are your goals and expectations for this year?
Clayton: To have a better record than the last season.
Cole: Yeah.
