Coach: Chad Tsotigh
21-22 Record: 19-6
The Lady Cougars will have a new look this season after head coach Chad Tsotigh replaces several starters from last season. “We are replacing four starters on a team that finished 19-6 and was beat out in the second day of regionals. I look for this group to be hungry to prove they can compete in every game on our schedule,” said coach Tsotigh.
Kyla Masters (5-9, Jr.) returns at forward where her athleticism is key for Woodland. Masters is very competitive and one of the leaders of this team. Danene Long (5-5, So.) is the silent killer for Woodland. A quiet and unassuming player, Long is known for her work ethic in the gym and that hard work will pay off this season.
Emery Jenkins (6-0, Jr.) plays big in the post for Woodland. “She will be a defensive force for us in the paint this year altering opposing team’s shots in the paint. She will allow our other players to create pressure on defense without giving up easy shots,” said coach Tsotigh.
Camille LeForce (5-5, Jr.) is a quick guard with range. Look for LeForce and Bridgette Graham (5-8, Jr.) to have big seasons from their guard spots. Other players to watch include Hadley Wilson (5-8, Jr.), Taillyn Burch (5-5, Jr.), Emily Hoff (5-6, Fr.), and Savannah Belford (5-3, Fr.).
