Coach: Mark Meador
20-21 Record: 2-18
The Lady Maroons enter this season ready to put last season behind them. After finishing with a 2-18 record, they only lost one senior from that squad. That gives head coach Mark Meador, who is in his fifteenth season leading the team, a positive outlook for this year.
“We are a very young team,” Meador said. “Last year, we only had one senior, so we are bringing back several players who had some really good game experience. We will lean on them to be leaders for us this season.” One of those that saw a lot of game time last season is Natasha Hindman (6-1, Sr.), who registered eight points and six rebounds. On offense, she is able to score inside and outside, while on the defensive end, she is a great shot blocker. Bree Rowe (5-10, Jr.) is also back and looks to expand her six point and eight rebound average a year ago. Tatum Jones (5-3, Sr.) and Bostyn Chambers (5-7, Jr.) combined for eight points per game. The duo put in a lot of work in the offseason, and they are ready to make a bigger impact on the floor. A solid outside shooter that has a great vision of the entire floor, Keitlynn Rios (5-7, So.) averaged three points per game a year ago and is ready to have a bigger influence for her squad. Chesney Kimbrel is an outstanding student-athlete that does a great job of taking care of her teammates. She is expected to see more game time this season. Kellyn Botts (5-8, So.) will be another player that opponents will have to keep an eye out for this season. During her freshman year, she was a tough defender and had a good season, tallying two points and four rebounds per game. This year, she will work hard to wreak havoc on opposing offenses.
