Chandler’s Casmen Hill: Top 100 Player Spotlight – Presented by Chandler Booster Club

By Chris Cox

While many of the top players in the state have been playing since they were elementary school, Chandler running back Casmen Hill (5-11, 180, Sr.) got a bit of a later start.

“I’ve only been playing about five years,” he says. “I had moved away but when I came back, I started playing.”

Hill has taken to the running back role well. Heading into his senior season, Hill has already put together a stellar high school career. He’s already rushed for nearly 4,800 yards and 55 touchdowns in his career. Even with all of that success, Hill is pushing himself to do even greater things this season.

“I can always get better at reading blocks, working on speed, and getting stronger in the weight room,” he says. “I want to reach 5,000 for my career and rush for 2,000 again. I’d like to end the year off with an all-state jacket.”

As a team, Hill says the goal is always the same.

“We are trying district and hopefully a state title,” he says. “Last year we made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs, and we want to do better this year.”

Hill knows he and his teammates need to work hard in the offseason and in practice to get Chandler to the top of a crowded Class 2A. His head coach, Jack Grey, says Hill is respected by all of his teammates and when he speaks, it carries weight.

“Casmen is a very high character athlete,” Grey says. “He leads by example and remains humble in all his success on the field. The guys on our team would unanimously consider him a great teammate.”

Hill currently does not have any offers, but he believes that a big year by he and his Lion teammates will lead to opportunities.

“We will get there but I don’t have any yet,” he says. “I feel like if I go out and do my thing, things will happen.”

Outside of football, Hill power lifts, runs track, and is involved in FCA.
