OFFENSE
Last season was a rough one for the Cleveland Tigers, ending the season with just two wins. As they enter into a brand new season, head coach Cy Stallard knows that his team is to need to improve in a number of places in order to get back into the winning ways. They also have a tough schedule with four 2021 playoff teams on there. Leading the offense at quarterback is going to be Julius Garrett (6-2, 175, Sr.). He will have a few players at his disposal including wide receivers Scott Kennedy (5-11, 170, Jr.) and Javen Lindsey (6- 0, 168, So.), along with running back Adam Love (5-10, 170, Sr.). This trio of athletes will work to get open and find open lanes to get the ball to and run it into the endzone. Maintaining things on the offensive line will be Brock Powell (5-10, 245, Jr.) and Trevor Allen (5-9, 220, Sr.). They will work hard to keep defenders at bay.
DEFENSE
There are some improvements to be made on the defensive side as well. As a team, the Tigers allowed their opponents to score an average of almost forty points per game last season. This squad has put in the work in the offseason and is ready to hit the field and show that their hard work had paid off. Up front, defensive linemen Caleb Humble (6-1, 215, So.) and Luke Sizemore (6-1, 215, Sr.) will work to wreak havoc and disrupt the opponent’s offensive game plans. Aiden Schwenker (5-10, 156, Jr.) and Chandler Taylor (5-10, 180, Sr.) will take care of things at the linebacker position. Whether it is helping shut down the running game or coverage in the passing game, they will be there and ready to take down the opponent. In the secondary, defensive backs, Rusty Thomas (6-0, 145, Jr.) and Bo Thomas (5-10, 150, Fr.) will be patrolling and working to shut down the passing game of the other team. Assistant coaches this season are Koty Koster, Logan Schultz, Kelby Edens, and Mark McArthur.
