Corridor Area Football “Super 7″ – Editor’s & Fan’s Choice – Presented By Ortho Oklahoma

EDITOR’S CHOICE

These are the top seven players in the Corridor area hub, ranked by VYPE editors regardless of position.

#1 Alex Winter – OL/TE/DL – Senior – Bristow

There isn’t much Winter can’t do on the football field. The four-sport athlete is comfortable in many roles which is bad news for his competition. Winter is everything you want in a player.

#2 Trip Davis – QB/DB – Senior – Prague

Davis is a dual-threat quarterback and someone an opposing defense must account for on the field. Defensively Davis is an outstanding cover man grabbing seven INTs last season.

#3 Blaze Berlowitz – QB – Junior – Cushing

Berlowitz had an amazing season last year throwing for more than 3,000 yards with 27 touchdowns. Look for that trend to continue in 2021.

#4 Gabe Martinez – S – Senior – Cleveland

With nearly 100 tackles and two interceptions to his credit last season, Martinez proved to be one of the top defensive backs in the class last year.

#5 Kaden Jones – RB – Senior – Chandler

A quick and crafty running back, Jones was one of the top rushers in the class last season gaining nearly 2,000 yards on the ground. Look for another great effort from the senior.

#6 Riley Matheson – LB – Junior – Cushing

One of the more exciting linebackers you will see this season. Matheson is a big 6-foot, 190-pounds and is only getting bigger. Last year he grabbed 167 tackles and five sacks.

#7 Noah Townly – WR – Senior – Cleveland

Townly averaged 18.5 yards per reception last year for a total on the season of 721 yards and 10 scores. Townly can be used in many different ways for the Tigers including RB and special teams.

FAN’S CHOICE

Based on fan voting in the Corridor area hub, here are the top players at seven positions, as well as some runner-ups who are worth a mention.

OFFENSE

Quarterback: Shain Hamilton – Cleveland

Hamilton is coming off of a season that saw him throw for 1,614 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also rushed for 290 yards and three scores. Looks to have another solid season.

Wide Receiver/Tight End: Devin Phillips – Mannford

A sure-handed receiver that will be an offensive producer for the Pirates.

Running Back: Kevin Gooch – Drumright

A young running back with a lot of talent. He will be a weapon for the Tornadoes for the next few years.

Offensive Lineman: Wesley Stokes – Cleveland

The three year starter will be an anchor on the offensive line this season for the Tigers.

DEFENSE

Linebacker: Braden Harris – Meeker

The junior linebacker is going to be an impact player this season.

Defensive Back: Gabe Martinez – Cleveland

Martinez returns to be a force in the secondary. He registered 99 tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery last season.

Defensive Lineman: Kasen Marshall – Drumright

Kasen will disrupt a lot of plans that his opponents have.
