Frontier Fast-Pitch Softball Preview – Presented by Land and Cattle Steakhouse

Coach: JUSTINE WICHMAN

OUTLOOK

Following a district championship and regional runner-up last season, Frontier is looking to make an even bigger splash this season. Head coach Justine Wichman says Frontier graduated just two players from last year’s team and is returning their best hitter. Leading the way for Frontier are VYPE Top 100 athletes Jamie Molina (C, UT, Sr.) and BJ Childs (SS, So.). Wichman says Molina has a cannon of an arm behind the plate but can play any position if needed. Molina is arguably the best hitter on the team. She hit .584 last season and also has enough power to hit number homeruns. Wichman says Molina is not just a great player but also an outstanding leader. Childs is just a sophomore but made a big impact as a freshman hitting .425 and playing great defense. Wichman says Childs is a smart player and an overall gamer.

Aly Sneath (IF, Fr.) and Kylee Ruff (P, UT, Fr.) are a pair of freshmen to look out for this season. Wichman expects both to be big contributors due to their high softball IQ and ability to swing the bat. Kaidence Jefferson (2B, CF, So.) is one of those under the radar players. She is a switch hitter with great speed and is aggressive on the bases. Wichman is also excited to see what Laramie Kodesh (OF, Sr.) can do in her final season. Wichman says Kodesh is very involved in the community and also cheers and participates in FFA at Frontier. Wichman says her Mustangs are excited about this year and have a lot of depth and many pieces to fit in the puzzle.
