Frontier’s Olivia Littlecook – North OK Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Tom Henley Shelter Insurance

By Derrick Smith

Most athletes have a moment in their career that they will never forget. For some, it is a team achievement, while for others like Olivia Littlecook, it could be a personal accomplishment.

“The highlight of my career would have to be when I hit a buzzer-beater during my freshman year,” she recalled. “The moment of seeing the ball fall in when the horn sounded and all the fans cheered on their feet was the best feeling. I couldn’t do it without my teammates. I also appreciated the coach I had, drawing up a play for me and believing and putting in trust in me.”

Littlecook is a junior at Frontier High School. She plays basketball, soccer, and softball for the Mustangs. She says that being a successful athlete boils down to doing the work ahead of time.

“Being successful in my sports means always going my hardest,” she said. “I have to bring one-hundred percent every day and not give up when things get hard. I have to put in the work and strive to be at my best.”

Throughout her life, Littlecook has had a few people that have always been there for her and stood by her.

“The biggest influence and role model for me is my grandpa,” she said. “He was my biggest supporter and was always there for me. He made me strive to be my best, and always reminded me to keep reaching for my goals. Also, I would not be in this position without my parents. I appreciate everything they do for me, reminding me to be my best, taking me to summer games, practice, and out-of-state events.”

When she is not playing sports for her school, Olivia enjoys being involved in the community.

“I have been involved with cultural dancing, the Frontier Intertribal Youth Council, and the Junkyard Basketball Club.”
