VYPE caught up with Stillwater’s Tripp Schuessler to talk about all things golf.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Schuessler: Golf has taught me how to rely on patience and discipline not only on the course, but in my daily life.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Schuessler: I love being on a team because of the competitiveness and ability to look out for each other.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Schuessler: I love golf because it is so demanding and unforgiving at times. The satisfaction of a good shot is unbeatable.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?
Schuessler: I look up to Rory McIlroy because of the way he treats others and the poise he shows while competing.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Schuessler: I got into golf from my Dad at a young age. He had a club in my hand the day I could walk.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Schuessler: My brothers have inspired me to be the man I am today with everything they’ve done. Even all of the fights have built up my character and taught me all the lessons I’ve needed to know throughout my high school years.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Schuessler: I love representing Stillwater High School as an athlete because of the school-wide support everyone gives. Everybody respects the athletes at this school.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Schuessler: My favorite memory of playing was all of the rounds with my brother during the Covid summer.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Schuessler: The best advice anyone has ever given me is to treat everyone how you want to be treated. It is a life lesson that is always stuck in my head and I think about it all the time.
