As a member of the varsity softball team, Sofia Kropp plays catcher and third base. The sophomore is also a member of the Stillwater FFA chapter.
“I first got involved in FFA when I was in the eighth grade,” said Kropp.
Like many of her peers, getting involved in FFA was something she had wanted to do while in middle school and thanks to the encouragement of her family, she has continued being part of the Stillwater FFA chapter.
“My mom and the upperclassmen are the ones who really got me involved in FFA,” said Kropp. “I love how the Stillwater FFA chapter feels like one big family.”
Kropp also said her father has played a big role in her life from softball to FFA, he’s been there for all of it.
“My dad has helped me with every sport I’ve played, been at every single show for FFA and has always been there for me,” said Kropp.
As a member of FFA, Kropp said she enjoys showing her pigs and being part of the action in the arena. The sophomore said there are many things students can get involved in and enjoy as members.
“My advice to anyone who wants to join FFA or is in FFA is to attend anything and everything you can and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there,” said Kropp.
Both seasons are starting for Kropp as she turns some of her attention to the softball field, but her passion for her animals and her passion for FFA never takes a backseat. Look for Kropp and her teammates under head coach Karie Linsenmeyer to have a great season. Also expect to see Kropp showing her pigs and enjoying everything the FFA chapter at Stillwater has to offer.
