PERKINS-TRYON DEMONS

BOYS

Coach: Dylan Parker

22-23 Record:19-7

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Demons’ basketball team as they head into a new season. Head coach Dylan Parker says that with experience from last season and a lot of work in the offseason, he is looking forward to a great season for his squad. “We bring back four of five starters from last year’s team that finished 19-7 on the year,” Parker said. “We also return ninety percent of our minutes played, scoring, rebounding, assists, etc. from last year and have a chance to be a really good basketball team. We’ll have five seniors who all have a ton of experience with all of them playing since they were freshman. Our depth should be improved from last season with a few juniors and sophomores making big strides in the off-season.

I’m really excited about this team’s potential and what we have the potential to accomplish.” Returning leading scorer from last season is Tucker Shepherd (6-5, Sr.), who averaged 17 points last season and will look to continue to play a big role this season. Shepherd is a three-year starter and the returning Tulsa 7 Conference Player of the Year. A couple of other big-time scorers from last season are back. Dylan Davidson (6-1, Sr.) and Cutter Greene (6-1, Sr.) combined for 27 points, eleven rebounds, and five assists per game last year. Davidson runs the point and is able to get in the paint and score or create open shots for his teammates. Cutter is an explosive athlete who acts as a rim protector on the defensive end of the floor. He is also a great finisher around the basket on offense. Tre’ Stevenson tallied a 6.0 point, 5.0 rebound, and 2.0 assist average last season. But after a productive offseason, he is looking to be a bigger force on the court. The other members of the team that will look to play a role this season are Beck Smith (5-10, Sr.), Niko Sotelo (5-8, Jr.), Corbin Reedy (6-3, Jr.), Jace Myers (5-10, So.), Brodey Bursiaga (6-4, So.), and Carson Brown (6-0, So.).
