9 Questions with Stillwater’s Talon Kendrick – Presented by: Stillwater Family Care

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

TK: My favorite teacher is my 4th grade English teacher Mrs. Liebenau. She taught me how to deal with adversity and always knew how to make me laugh.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

TK: If I could pick anywhere to go for vacation in summer I would go to Greece, I’ve never been to Europe and all the cool sites and history in Greece would be very fun to see. I would take Heston and Holden Thompson, and Trey Tuck.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

TK: My favorite meal is steak, with steak fries, mashed potatoes, and Mac, and cheese. With strawberry cheesecake for dessert.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

TK: I would like to thank Jeff Ventris and Chance Jeffery. They coached me in travel baseball for 7 years and they shaped me into the man I am today.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

TK: Sports has taught me to be respectful to my parents, coaches, and teachers. It has also taught me to cherish every moment with the people around me because you never know how it all can end.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

TK: My favorite part about being on a team is the friends and memories you make. You become really close to your teammates and begin to think of them like brothers. I will remember the memories we have made, my whole life.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

TK: I’m passionate about football because I am super competitive. I want to win at anything and everything I am doing. Proving that you’re the better football team gives you a great sense of pride and joy that you don’t get much from anywhere else.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

TK:  I look up to and model my game off of George Pickens. He is a very physical, big, and tough receiver. He is very physical off the line with corners and he blocks them to the ground which is something I try to do every play.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

TK: My favorite memory from playing sports was winning the football state championship last year. And celebrating with the guys after.
