Throughout an athlete’s career, there can be many moments that they experience that have an impact on them Aleigh Tucker plays softball, basketball, and runs track for Morrison High School and she has had a few of these moments.
“I think one of the highlights for me would have to be winning the state championship in fastpitch softball during my freshman year,” she recalled. “Also, playing for Team Oklahoma and winning the Little League Softball World Series in 2021. Those were two really great moments for me and my teammates.”
Tucker, who is a sophomore, says that her family has played a big role in her life and that they are some of the biggest influences for her.
“My family motivates me,” she said. “If it was not for my parents, I would not be where I am today. They push me to be better and never give up. Also, Jayda Coleman of the University of Oklahoma softball team is someone that I look up to because she is a great softball player and knows the game really well.”
While Aleigh is a solid athlete, she also knows that you have to put in the work to keep getting better. And when she steps out to compete, she says she is proud to wear the Morrison uniform.
“It has taken time, effort, support, practice, laughter, tears, and confidence for me to get to where I am today,” she stated. “It means a lot to me getting to go out and represent my school as a girl from a small town.”
When she and her teammates step out to compete, it does not matter who the opponent is, but she does have some teams that make the victory a little sweeter.
“I think I enjoy beating either Pawnee, Ripley, or Frontier the most,” she said. “They have always been some of our biggest rivals. I am really thankful for all of my teammates, but I think that Hillary Paterson is the one I enjoy working with the most in practice because she has always been there for me and she knows what I am capable of doing and pushes me to do that.”
