September Flanagan is a senior at Morrison High School, where she competes on the fast pitch and slow pitch softball teams. Flanagan is a four-year starter as an infielder and will complete the most successful career as a softball player at Morrison. As of now, her career numbers are a .491 batting average, 168 hits, 25 home runs, and 135 RBIs. Flanagan is off to a hot start for her senior season with 30 hits and six home runs in 21 games.

“On the field, September is one of the best players in the state, regardless of class,” coach J.T. Freeman said. “She leads our team with her play on the field and is an excellent defensive player who also bats lead off in our lineup this year. Offensively she can do it all, hit for power, drive runs in, move runners, anything the game calls for, she is able to perform at an exceptional level.”

Flanagan was named the Offensive Player of the Year in District 2A-2 last season. Flanagan, along with her senior class, has a combined record of 112-17 and won a state championship in 2019, and finished as runner up in Class 2A last season. Deservingly so, Flanagan was the first female athlete in Morrison’s history to sign with a Division I program after she signed to play with the Kansas Jayhawks back in October 2021.

“All of her success didn’t happen on accident,” Freeman said. “She has spent years working her tail off to improve. September is a one-of-a-kind softball player and athlete, but more importantly, she is a great kid. It’s been an honor to have coached her the past four years and put our program on the map as one of the best softball programs in the state.”

Flanagan credits her parents, Scott, and Sheila, for her success on and off the field. She also credited a former Oklahoma State softball player, Sydney Pennington, for working with her to better her game.
