Pawnee High School’s Jill Scott is a member of the varsity softball team and this season Scott said the team is looking to build on the success of last year.
“My expectations for this season are to go further into regionals and make it to state,” said Scott. “I personally really want to beat our rival schools this year as well!”
For Scott, softball has been a way of life since the age of six when she played for the Pawnee Thunder. With nine years of experience under her belt, and many of it at the position of catcher, Scott is excited to see what they can accomplish. She admits this is a very close team and they love playing together.
“What I love most about my team and my teammates is that we are all very close and great at working together,” said Scott.
Softball is not the only sport or activity Scott is involved in at Pawnee High School.
“Other than softball, I participate in Pawnee Powerlifting, Beta Club, High School Honor Society, track and field, and the Gifted and Talented program,” said Scott.
Being a student-athlete at Pawnee brings a sense of pride to Scott and she loves representing her school. Athletics allows her to spend more time with her friends while doing something they all love to do.
“What makes being a student-athlete at Pawnee fun is that I’m surrounded by my friends and all the athletes here keep me motivated,” said Scott.
Upon graduating from Pawnee, Scott plans to attend college and work towards getting her degree. Away from school, Scott said she enjoys spending time with family and being active outdoors.
