Pawnee High School cheerleader, Unique Stewart, is in her junior year and looking forward to being on the sidelines for football season.
“This upcoming season I am most excited to see the boy’s play! I know it sounds cliche, but I look forward to football season all year,” said Stewart.
Cheer and dance have been the focus for Stewart growing up, but she has turned her attention to cheer and being a productive student-athlete at Pawnee High.
“Cheer has definitely always been one of my favorite sports. The only other sport that has ever even compared was dance. While I miss being a dancer, I wouldn’t trade being a cheerleader,” said Stewart. “Pawnee is a great place to be a student-athlete because of all the support you receive from coaches and staff. They are constantly looking out for you and pushing you to be the best athlete you can be.”
Stewart said she loves the energy of the football games and performing under the lights.
“Pawnee is a really supportive community, and I love hearing the crowd cheer on Fridays,” said Stewart.
Stewart said she’s proud of her teammates and how they have overcome some challenges coming into the new school year. “The thing I love most about our group is joe flexible they have been. We have had several ups and down’s this pre-season, but we have got through it together as a team. A couple of my teammates who put on a show every chance they get are Emma Vance and Payton Lytle. They put in hours of tumbling to ensure they continue to be good athletes,” said Stewart.
After high school, Stewart would like to attend college and study biology and pre-med.
