Perry’s Hunter Vorndran – FFA Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Ortho Oklahoma and Oklahoma Ag Credit

When Perry High School’s Hunter Vorndran first got involved in FFA, it was his family who encouraged him to get involved. That was in middle school, now he’s a member of the high school chapter and playing varsity baseball for the Maroons.

“I first got involved in eighth grade but have been around FFA all my life,” said Vorndran. “My parents and sister encouraged me to get involved in FFA.”

Like many of his peers in FFA, there are many aspects he enjoys from the people to the travel and animals. Vorndran has taken the opportunity to learn as much as he can about livestock and attend events around the state.

“One thing I’ve enjoyed the most is meeting new people all around the state at events,” said Vorndran. “I’ve been involved in livestock judging during the summer and showing livestock.”

Vorndran currently shows pigs at the events and is enjoying the challenge of raising them and caring for them.

As a member of the baseball team, Vorndran works to help the team in many ways. He can play multiple positions and is always encouraging to his teammates.

“I’m a utility player,” said Vorndran. “What I love most about my team is the support they give off during games and the bonds we have.”

Vorndran said if he could give some advice to the younger students, it would be to have fun and get to know your teacher and fellow students.

“Take time to get to know your Ag teacher and find many ways to get involved in Ag,” said Vorndran.

The utility player for the Maroons thanked his family for always being there to support him and for their influence in his life.

“My biggest influences in life are my parents and sister for always pushing me to work hard in the barn and in baseball,” said Vorndran.

Congratulations to Hunter Vorndran for being selected as the Ok Ag Credit FFA Student of the Month.
