Kennedy Hight– Perry High School Basketball, Softball, and Track

Perry High School senior Kennedy Hight is a talented, multi-sport athlete that plays basketball, softball, and track. Kennedy is a point guard in basketball, and shortstop in track for the Perry Maroons.
Many would consider Kennedy a veteran in her sports. Kennedy stated, “I have grown up around softball and basketball, because my dad coached both sports, and did so even before I was born. I started playing both sports when I was four. I started track in the fifth grade.”
In regards as to what it means for Kennedy to represent her school and her community, Kennedy elated, “The support I get from my community is amazing. When I get the opportunity to make them proud, that is always my main goal. It means a lot to me because of the amount of support they pour into me.”
Asked what motivates her, Kennedy stated, “Having the urge to win is what motivates me.”
Behind every student athlete is a role model that they look up to. For Kennedy, she explained, “One of my biggest role models is my college coach. Coach Disselhorst has supported me through my high school career and through injury. She has shown a lot of faith in me and has helped me grow my confidence.”
Throughout a student athlete’s career, many memories are created. For Kennedy, one in particular stood out. Kenney stated, “My favorite memory in high school sports was winning a state softball championship.”
Besides having a plate filled with high school athletics, Kennedy pursues another extracurricular activity. Kennedy stated, “Outside of basketball, softball, and track, I am the Student Council President of Perry High School.”
After graduating from Perry High School, Kennedy plans on pursuing higher education, as well as continuing to play sports at the collegiate level. Kennedy stated, “After graduating, I will be attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University to continue my basketball career.”
