Perry’s Treg Bowman – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by: Stillwater Medical Clinic of Perry

By Payton Moody

Treg Bowman, a senior at Perry High School who excels in both football and wrestling, showcases his tenacity and skill on and off the field. As an inside linebacker and fullback, Bowman’s athletic prowess and determination have been instrumental in his team’s successes. When asked about his motivation, Bowman emphasizes his drive to outwork and outperform his opponents. “I don’t want there to be another player/wrestler who is out there working harder than me,” he said.

Bowman’s family has been one of his biggest influences, providing unwavering support through thick and thin. Their constant presence and encouragement have played a vital role in shaping Bowman into the dedicated and driven athlete he is today.

In the classroom, Bowman credits Mrs. Sage Chenoweth, his history teacher, for impacting his life positively. “Mrs. Chenoweth not only taught valuable lessons but also supported and encouraged me to excel academically and in every aspect of my life,” he said.

For Bowman, success on the field and the wrestling mat requires sacrifice and dedication. He spends time watching film, analyzing plays, and continuously striving to improve his skills. “It has taken a lot of sacrifice and a lot of personal time spent watching film,” he said. “I always push myself to get better by watching and learning.”

Bowman is appreciative of the hard work and dedication of teammate Thatcher Colen, who often goes unappreciated but is always there to give his all for the team. “He works hard and gives everything he has to make our team better,” Bowman said.

Beyond sports, Bowman is actively involved in various school activities, including Student Council, Gifted and Talented, Leadership, and National Honor Society, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact in his school community.

“I take great pride in knowing no matter what sport I am in, the community will be supporting me,” Bowman said. “When I move on in life, I know I will have all of Perry backing me up.”

As Treg Bowman continues to excel in both football and wrestling, the future holds great promise for this exceptional young athlete. His dedication, leadership, and passion for the sport make him an inspiration to his teammates and a true asset to Perry High School.
